Senior Business Controller

Tom&Co is market leader in pet retail in Belgium and has important growth ambitions in France. Our company is unique by its omnichannel shop experience, its exclusive range of products, services and advice in order to meet evolving customer needs and expectations.

In order to support our ambitions and growing organization, we are currently looking for a Senior Business Controller to strengthen our Finance Team. 

Your responsibilities

• You are ambitious to drive our organization to the next level and like to set standards high for yourself and also others

• Together with the senior and junior business controller (focus P&L), you are a true business partner within the company with focus on financial processes. You drive and guide the organisation to achieve its goals. Your focus is the balance sheet and business development

• You develop, automate and implement performance metrics: KPI’s, dashboards, methods, systems and decision-making models

• You collect and organize data. In combination with input from multiple sources, you use this as a basis for appropriate and accurate financial analysis; 

• You work closely with accounting ensuring a proper analytical bookkeeping and correct reflection of the balance sheet items (strong focus on working capital, debt & tax planning, client reporting, ICO matching, capex)

• You are responsible for the recording, follow up and reporting of key invoicing items and bad debt

• You manage the closing agenda

• You prepare ad-hoc financial analysis for the finance department & business

• You are responsible for the creation of budget / forecast and cash planning

• You support the management by developing and preparing financial reporting:

• Creating and analysing business models

• Identifying and analysing the causes of any discrepancies between the actuals versus budget/last year, suggesting corrective measures

• Analysing net working capital, cash flow and capex

• You are the key audit responsible

• You report directly to the CFO

Your profile

• You hold a Master’s degree in finance/economics/management

• You have 6-8 years of experience in audit, financial analysis, or business controlling

• You have strong Excel skills, knowledge of SAP is an asset

• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with profound financial knowledge

• You have excellent organizational skills

• You are a team player and have capacity to work independently

• You are process oriented and like big picture as well as details

• You are curious, pragmatic, solution & result driven

• You are fluent in Dutch and French, English is an asset
